Jacques Boulanger

CEO, Sound designer & Re-recording mixer

Jacques Boulanger received a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Jazz Studies at Concordia University in Montreal. He then moved to New York City with nothing more than a backpack, and started a fast paced career as musician. Performing as a saxophone player and musical director for a variety of styles - from Broadway shows, jazz, and Latin music, after years on the road he discovered audio post-production. After evaluating his aptitudes at the Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation, it became clear that his aptitude for music, performance, computers, MIDI composition and his personality trait of “perfectionism” would translate best in the emerging arts of digital media and audio post production. After an intense and accelerated education at Full Sail in Orlando,  Jacques returned to New York City, and climbed his way to the top in his industry. Jacques Boulanger is a consummate professional, and after 13 years and over 5000 audio post productions, he has established Creative Audio Post as one of NYC's most trusted audio post production facility.

In his spare time, Jacques enjoys recording sounds in nature and in urban environment to use in his professional soundtracks for TV, film & emerging digital media and has acquired some of the best sound recordings equipment to date, including a Soundfield ST-450 ambisonic microphone for B-Format surround sound recording. He has personally trained under one of the world's most respected sound recording artist, Chris Watson (David Attenborough's wildlife documentaries location recordist) and has traveled to places near and far around the globe capturing sound for his sought after creative and unique soundtracks.

If not recording sounds in nature,  Jacques also enjoys spending time sailing the Hudson on his beloved sailboat, Amazing Grace, and spending time with his family.
